Smart About Salt training for operators is a one-day program including the in-class exam that provides an overview of the key aspects of salt management.Visit website
Lessons cover 14 modules including the importance of equipment calibration, snow clearing techniques, and the all-important business elements of managing your risk.
This training program has been developed for:
* Owners and staff who conduct snow and ice control operations
* Owners and staff who are responsible for operation and application decisions
* Suppliers of salts/brine and other de-icing or traction materials
Becoming Smart About Salt Certified now is good business for the future of your business!
This training has been requested for our industry from Procurement NS and will be recognized when bidding on snow removal tenders in the future. It is HIGHLY recommended that someone on your snow / ice management team gets this training.
COST: $375 / Landscape NS, NS, PEI Members & $450 for Non Members.
LOCATION: Safety Services NS - 201 Brownlow Ave. in Burnside Industrial Park
72 hour Cancellation Policy. No shows must pay $100 administration fee. Substitutions can be made at anytime.

Paul Johnson is the Operations Manager for the County of Wellington overseeing winter maintenance on the roads for more than 30 years. He is one of the authors of the Environment C anada Code of Practice for the Environmental Management of Road Salts, a founding member and past chair of the Ontario Road Salt Management Group and Chairman of Training Committee APWA which developed the Winter Maintenance Supervisor Certificate Workshop. Paul has been educating snow and ice professionals around the globe on the management of snow and ice control and is passionate about sharing his expertise with contractors like you.
